CVS Epic Beauty Event

*This post may contain affiliate links, which means I may receive a small commission, at no cost to you, if you make a purchase through a link!*

Hey guys! Lately I’ve been loving a few things from CVS and I’m pretty sure you will too. I want to tell you about them because right now, until September 26, is CVS’ Epic Beauty Event. In addition to the ability to shop amazing deals on all your favorite wellness, beauty and haircare products, when you spend $25 on qualifying products, you can get a $10 gift card!

Keep reading to hear about everything I picked up at the Epic Beauty Event!

The first thing I’m sharing with you guys is the Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Waterproof.

I’ve been obsessed with how gentle, yet powerful, this cleansing water is for removing makeup, dirt, and oil.

It doesn’t hurt that the micellar water is less than $10. Although some washes can be drying on the skin, this solution leaves my skin feeling so refreshed, cleansed and moisturized. It’s even soothing enough for me to use to remove my eye makeup, which I love, as it can be difficult to find a product  that will work with my sensitive eyes and skin.

So if you’re on the hunt for a makeup remover, I’d definitely recommend getting your hands on this solution. They also have the oily skin version of it too just like the water. They’re both really affordable!

To use, I apply a generous amount of the Micellar Cleansing Water to a fresh cotton pad. I begin with removing my dark eye makeup and liquid eyeliner. With my regular makeup remover, I typically smudge it until it gets difficult to take off and then remove the rest with a cleanser. But t

he Garnier Micellar Water was a great switch because it gets most of my eyeliner with a gentle swipe. It wasn’t difficult at all to lift all my shadow, liner, and mascara onto the pad.

I also picked up these Nature’s Bounty Hair, Skin and Nails Gummy Vitamins!

Your body needs to be taken care of. For me, that meansdrinking plenty of water every day, eating healthier, exercising and getting enough rest daily. I typically need at least eight hours of sleep at night to feel restored. When I push myself to stay up past my bedtime or over-engage on weekends, my skin makes me pay for it.

As another part of my path to wellness, I’ve begun a daily vitamin and supplement routine. While it’s a small step, there’s something helpful for our bodies when taking vitamins & supplements. I grew out my hair the longest it has ever been during lockdown. I’m so glad I did it, but my hair still needed some extra love. It’s important to remember that beauty starts from within. Nature’s Bounty Hair, Skin and Nails Gummies setthe base to support your natural beauty from the inside out by offering vital nutrients your body needs each day. With a mix of nutrients, including Biotin, Vitamin C and Vitamin E, the gummies work from within to support lustrous hair, vibrant skin and healthy nails. Just as I treat myself to occasional manicures, and hair salon appointments, it’s important to show your body some extra love that helps you feel more beautiful, inside and out.

Another product I recommend is the GSQ by GLAMSQUAD 5 Piece Brush Set.

They are great quality and can easily be picked up on a CVS run!

These brushes are beautiful, feel soft, and very convenient to grab on a go.

This set Includes: Powder brush, Foundation brush, Shadow brush, Angled eyeliner brush. It’s literally the essential brushes you need to do your makeup.

The powder brush can be used for loose or pressed powder, blush or bronzer. The eyeshadow brush is a perfect size for swiping eyeshadow across your lid. You could also turn the brush on its side and use it at an angle to press a darker shadow into your crease. The foundation brush is used to apply foundation, but I also like to use it for concealers as well. The angled eyeliner brush is used to apply eyeliner and can be used to do your eyebrows.

This set is perfect for if you are trying to cut down on your makeup brush collection and just want the essentials.

Those are my three top CVS favorites, which I picked up at the CVS Epic Beauty Event, that you should definitely try!

Chebe Powder

Recently, I tried chebe powder. My hair was a bit damage and very dry. It wasn’t that bad where I can’t fix it. So, I decided to try out chebe powder and see if it would bring moisture back into my hair. I have 3c hair and colored, it’s normally medium/ normal porosity, but since I dried my hair out it became low.

WHAT IS CHEBE?

Derived from a plant know as Croton Zambesicus (Lavender Croton), it’s an herb that can be found outside the houses in town and villages all over Africa like Ghana, Nigeria and Gambia to name a few.

BENEFITS OF CHEBE

• Helps moisturizes and conditions the hair.

• Strengthens the hair and helps lock in moisture for a longer period of time.

• It improves the density of fine hair

• Gives hair an appearance of thickness over time

• Nourishes the hair follicles

If your hair does not retain moisture well, you may want to give Chebe a try.

DOES CHEBE GROW HAIR

Based on what I’ve read about Chebe Powder it does not make your hair grow faster. Applying Chebe mixed with your favorite oils or cream helps trap in moisture. Which then eliminate brittle easy to snap hair strands or ends. Therefore, eliminating hair breakage and in return helps with length retention. Basically, if your hair is growing at its normal rate of half an inch a month you’ll get to retain the length. So it seems like Chebe aids in length retention. If your hair is moisturized, it will have no problem growing.

HOW TO — USE CHEBE:

Take 100 g of your favorite cream, mix with 100 g of oil of your choice and add a teaspoon of mixed shébé powder. Step one get the hair wet using regular water and alternate between the hair grease mix that you just made and the chébé powder mix until the hair is fully saturated. Then re-braid the hair and once that braid is done wet it again with water. Repeat this routine every 3 to 5 days.

There are many ways to use this powder to strengthen your natural hair growth.

In this post, I will highlight 3 creative ways in which you can use it.

And, if you’ve got other ways which you have used or plan on using it, be sure to leave them below in the comments section.

DEEP CONDITIONING MASK

This isn’t your typical deep conditioning treatment with conditioner because it will get a little messy. To create a deep conditioning treatment mix the Chebe powder with your favorite oil. I am a sucker for this hair hydrating oil. Apply the mixture on dampen hair (this is important) and let it sit under a plastic cap for up to 2 hours.

STYLER

Believe it or not, you can use Chebe power as a styler to put your hair in a protective style. Most common style is braids. This is the original way of using it in Africa. First, begin with a spray bottle to dampen hair. Apply water to Chebe powder to get it to a muddy consistency and begin applying it to your hair. Follow with braids or twists.

PROTEIN TREATMENT

The final way I have to share on how to use Chebe powder is as a protein treatment. Natural hair protein treatments are a great way to strengthen your hair. To do this, combine the powder with 1-2 eggs and mix well. Apply the mixture to damp hair and let it sit under plastic cap for 30 minutes. Follow with regular wash day routine.

WHERE CAN I BUY CHEBE POWDER FROM?

There are only a few shops to purchase this from so that way you ensure that you are buying the authentic product straight from Africa. I recommend checking it out on Etsy. Or click here to purchase
